Arrivals Into Dublin Airport Increased By 6% Last Week Despite Mandatory Hotel Quarantine For 71 Countries

Over 10,700 people flew into the facility, over 600 more than the previous week

11 per cent more foreign residents arrived last week, with just under 4,000 touching down.

Fianna Fáil senator Lisa Chambers says mandatory hotel quarantine should be ended.

"I know that there is a review point on the 9th June and my understanding is that the review is going to get underway this month, but my own personal view is I would like to see it end as soon as possible. I think it has run its course. We can do quarantining successfully at home by checking in on people, and that's what is happening in other member states. I see no reason why Ireland can't do the same."
