Barry Cowen expected to make Dáil statement this week

Agriculture Minister Barry Cowen's expected to make a statement to the Dáil this week on his drink driving ban.

The Fianna Fáil TD was caught driving over the limit when travelling from Dublin to Offaly in 2016.

He has since described it as a "terribly stupid mistake".

A decision whether or not to allow Mr Cowen address the Dáil's expected to be made at the Business Committee tomorrow.
