Booking Agents Say Restriction-Free Travel Between Britain And Ireland May Not Increase Tourism

Next week the government will consider the move, allowing seamless travel between the two nations to resume

Cork based travel agent Pat Dawson, who is the chief executive of the Irish Travel Agents Association, is in favour of the resumption of travel

But he says people are wary of going on holidays:

"You know, it's a moving feast and it's a moving target and I just noticed that the Portuguese are gone in on a lockdown now, which is bad news as such. I've seen surveys done; people are still nervous at the moment, until there's certainty. If there isn't certainty, there's definitely going to be a negative reaction to travelling in June."
