Calls for establishment of new group separate from NPHET to form long-term strategy for travel sector

There's a call for a group to be established separately from NPHET to form a long-term strategy for the travel sector.
Those working in the tourism and hospitality industry want clarity on what Covid-19 restrictions are expected during the summer.
The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan warned that people can't expect to visit beaches that are not in their own localities.
Editor of Air and Travel Magazine, Eoghan Corry, says there needs to be guidance set out for holidaymakers:
"Making any long term strategic decision that can affect an entire industry, with more than 200,000 jobs is impossible. And it would be great to get somebody other than NPHET, Other than Tony Holohan who is only doing his job, that's what he's doing, to put a strategy in place that enables an industry to sort of keep its shape, so that when we do open, there will be something for us to visit and something for us to sell"
