Cork Has Seen A Dramatic Surge In Covid-19 Cases, With 389 New Cases Confirmed Yesterday Evening

It was the highest of any one county in Ireland

In total, 3,394 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Republic, and four more patients have died.

Yesterday's official case number from the Department of Health is nearly double the previous all-time record -- set just 2 days ago. 

673 patients are currently being treated in hospital for the virus, with 56 people in ICUs.

Elderly and medically vulnerable people are being urged not to leave their homes unless "absolutely essential".
