Cork Simon say that homelessness among single men in Cork is 'stubbornly high'

A drop in the number of people availing of emergency accommodation in the city has been recorded however in relation to men who are on their own, without families, the figures remain high.

The latest annual report from the charity shows that 25% of those who were classed as long-term homeless have been housed.

However speaking to RedFM News Paul Sheehan of Cork Simon says there are very few one bedroom apartments in the city for those who are on their own on the streets, and the ones that are there are well beyond the reach of many trying to exit emergency accommodation:
