The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 431 additional cases of COVID-19.

58 patients are being treated in hospital for Covid-19, of which 22 are in ICU.

UCC Public Health Expert Says Slight Rise In Delta Variant In Ireland Is 'Real Worry' Given Trends In UK

There were 126 cases of the Delta strain here by May 29th - which is reported to be an increase of ten

It comes as 319 new cases of Covid 19 have been confirmed here and 54 patients are in hospital - the lowest in almost 9 months.

Professor Ivan Perry of UCC says the Delta mutation in the UK is a concern given the number travelling to the Republic.

Over 3.1 million jabs have been administered in Ireland so far

The online portal for registration is expected to open for people in their 30s shortly.
