Covid-19 Evening Update

Here's a round up of the days Covid stories

A further 534 Covid cases have been reported in Ireland today.

Figures shows 6 more people with the virus have died over the past week, bringing the total deaths since the pandemic began to 5,006.

The head of the HSE says growth of the Delta variant will likely "outmatch" Ireland’s supply of Covid vaccines.

Officials say 70% of the population has now received a first jab.

Legislation will need to be passed by the Dáil to allow indoor dining to take place for only vaccinated people. 

A number of Government TDs have previously said they would vote against such laws.

A pop-up Covid-19 test centre will be in operation in Baltimore on Saturday. 

The site at ILEN Rovers GAA Club will be open from 11am to 7pm. 

No appointment is necessary however people will need to bring a photo ID and give their phone number to receive their result.
