Deputy Chief Medical Officer Says Profile Of Covid-19 Improved Nationally But Concerns About County Limerick Still Persist

Dr Ronan Glynn says there has been 879 cases of the virus in the county over the past fortnight
He's appealing to people stick to the public health guidelines this weekend.
319 new cases of Covid have been confirmed in the Republic and there's 54 people with the disease in hospital.
Professor of Public Health at UCC, Ivan Perry, says the local public health department in the mid-west is doing great work:
"If you take the Department in the Midwest, just to take one example, that department are currently dealing with over 40 workplace outbreaks, with hundreds of cases and contacts. And of course, there is a worry that with further reopening, in advance of the levels of the the levels of vaccination that we would need to feel safe."
