Drop in number of people claiming pandemic unemployment payment

9,000 fewer people are now claiming the Covid 19 pandemic unemployment payment compared to this time last week.

It's the first time there's been a drop in the number of workers availing of the €350 a week.

589,000 people are now relying on it for their income, and they'll receive their weekly payment today
