EU establishing system to monitor exports of Covid vaccines from Europe

The move comes amid controversy over AstraZeneca reporting an unexpected delay in delivering millions of doses of its vaccine to Europe.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen says companies developing vaccines need to deliver and honour their obligations:

She's defended the approach taken by the Commission, "What normally takes five to 10 years to develop a vaccine was achieved in 10 months because the world pooled its resources, scientists shared their expertise and different manufacturers worked together"
