Infectious disease expert says emerging evidence doesn't necessarily mean pubs and restaurants will have to close again

Pubs and restaurants aren't doomed to close again because of emerging evidence about coronavirus, according to an expert.

More than 200 scientists - including two from Ireland - have urged the World Health Organisation to consider if the disease can be spread by tiny particles that hang in the air.

The WHO hasn't ruled out airborne transmission - but has always said it's spread through droplets when people sneeze or cough.
