Ireland's over 70s could begin to be vaccinated at GP clinics from next week

Logistical plans are currently being worked on in a bid to roll out the Pfizer and Moderna doses in GP clinics.
The two have been recommended for use in the elderly ahead of AstraZeneca because of better efficacy - however they're not as easily stored.
Chairman of the GP Committee on the Irish Medical Organisation, Dr Denis McCauley, believes the issue can be worked out quickly.
He says administering the doses could start soon:
"I think there was always a plan B in relation to the so it isn't that we're starting from scratch, I think once again it will be determined by supply. My understanding is that some supply of vaccines that will be destined for this particular source will be arriving next week so I would hope that the vaccination process shall begin next week also."
