Member Of NPHET Says Debate Around Antigen Testing Needn't Be So Polarised

The National Public Health Emergency Team was questioned this week by the Oireachtas Transport Committee on its perceived reluctance to the use of antigen testing for international travel
Public health officials explained that there is no evidence to validate the tests use in an aviation setting.
Dr Colm Henry says NPHET isn't against antigen testing:
"We're using that in serial testing in meat plants. Our public health experts, based on their own local assessment, can deploy antigen tests in outbreak settings, or in areas of high prevalence. It doesn't have to be a polarising debate. It's part of the overall armoury. But as a standalone test, it's not something we would advocate."
