NPHET Recommends Shutting Down Hospitality Sector From December 28th

The Cabinet will meet tomorrow to decide whether to close pubs that serve food, hotels and restaurants, but is likely to chose December 30th.

Hodson Bay Hotel Group Commercial Director, Gary Walsh says NPHET needs to use the data on compliance in hotels to make decisions:

"NPHET are not using or not availing of that data to guide the policy and the guidelines in terms of opening up hotels and I'm just talking about hotels in the context of hospitality. Now- it would help NPHET, it would help the government massively- if they summarised the detail and said okay, hotels, like our own like Hudson Bay group that are highly compliant, these hotels are fit for purpose, these hotels are okay to safely host guests in their hotels."
