Number Of Covid-19 Patients In Public Hospitals Dropped By Third In Two Weeks

It's fallen to 123 this morning - down from 154 just two days ago

HSE chief executive Paul Reid has welcomed the decline, noting how it's fallen from over 2,000 in January.

Dr Martin Daly, a former president of the Irish Medical Organisation, believes it'll drop below 100 shortly.

"It's really incumbent on people to continue to follow the public health guidelines to keep this trend going. It will be too easy to let go now. But one would hope that it would drop over the next 10 days to two weeks, and that we will get below that magical number."
