Nursing home visits will resume from March 22nd

Under new guidelines they'll be allowed receive two visits every week, under compassionate grounds

The new advice will apply to nursing homes where there's high vaccine coverage.

HSE clinical lead for infection control, Professor Martin Cormican describes how "compassionate grounds" visits will work:"

"It's not just that somebody is approaching end of life, if somebody is is upset if they feel that they need a visit and that they're distressed because they haven't seen somebody for a long time, as set out in the document, and that's what's in place now, that's how compassionate grounds are broadly defined"
