One million vaccine doses scheduled to arrive every month from May

Forty vaccination centres will be opened nationwide in the coming weeks.

People aged over 85 will begin to be vaccinated from next Monday. 

HSE CEO Paul Reid says the vast majority of these will be administered in GP practices:

"For next week from the 15th [of February] for the 70+ cohorts starting with the 85s. We'll have the vast majority of those vaccinations carried out in GP practices themselves. There's about 1,300 GPs nationally and 900 of them will complete their cohorts, their people in their areas in their own practices."
