Patients Attending The Mater Private Hospital In Cork Could Faces Extra Charges

The charges of up to €275 are for "Covid-19 Safety measures" 

 

The Echo reports that that the Mater Private Healthcare group is introducing the charges to help cover the costs of measures to protect patients and staff and says it has no alternative 

The measures included the introduction of a Covid-19 screening service, while facilities have been reconfigured in order to minimise contact with other patients.

The Mater says where an insurer subsequently provides cover for Covid-19 testing these fees will be fully reimbursed to patients
