Sport for children could be one of the first things to return after April 5th

Green Party leader Eamon Ryan says it's among the priorities for the government.

Easing the 5km restrictions and allowing some gatherings outdoors could also be on the cards after another month of restrictions.

Transport Minister Eamon Ryan says they're conscious of the importance of sport: "I don't want to promise ahead. I think we have to wait to see what happens in the coming weeks, but I think key to the opening up that please God will occur as the numbers keep coming down, one of the first things that will be opened up is the ability for young people to have sport. And I think that's good for their health, their well being, I think our health officials recognise that."
