The Department of Education has confirmed it has received legal correspondence on behalf of parents of children with special needs

Parents have advised they may take legal action and have called for the reopening of special education in-school provision.

Children with special needs were supposed to return to school on Thursday, but this was delayed as the Department and unions couldn't reach an agreement. 

A spokesperson for the Department says the correspondence received is under consideration.
