The Economic Downturn Caused By The Covid-19 Pandemic Could See A Spike In Tenant Evictions

That's according to housing charity Threshold

The service has dealt with over 1,000 new cases in Cork alone since the beginning of the year.

The charity says that while the temporary ban on evictions and rent increases is a positive step for renters, when these measures are lifted, many landlords could choose to sell their properties.

Over the bank holiday weekend, Threshold held a Den Day fundraiser, encouraging people to donate to the service.
