The Oxford/AstraZeneca Vaccine 'Less Effective' Against South African Variant Of Covid-19

That's according to a new study

A trial suggests it only offers "limited" protection against mild desease caused by the strain, but does prevent severe symptoms.

There have so far been nine cases of the South African variant detected in Ireland.

Work's now underway to adapt the vaccine, with hopes it could be ready in the Autumn.
