Workers Whose Wages Are Being Subsidised By The State Won't Face A Build-Up Of Taxes To Repay 

The government is replacing the existing Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme

It will be replaced with a new Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme from next Tuesday for businesses hardest-hit by Covid-19. 

Any tax liability for the new supports will be taken at source, rather than collected at a later date. 

The scheme will see the Government subsidising some workers’ incomes until at least March of next year.
