Music Generation provide education to youth groups, schools, and various organisations around Cork City with kids from 5-18 years old. They are celebrating being 10 years old by releasing a new single – Music Gives Me A Reason, which they performed at the Rock The Block at Elizabeth Fort.
One of the groups that Music Generation supports is Gary and the Cabin Studios. As part of Cruinnú na nÓg this year two of its members Jamie and Ciara will be taking on ambassadorial roles.
U2 play a big part in the funding for Music Generation, with being quoted as saying “they just want to make sure that everyone regardless of their background get access to music tuition”.
It’s not only good from a music point of view but it gives its members to opportunity to socialise, gives them an outlet and helps with their mental health.
