17-year-old arrested after hit and run incident leaves Cork toddler in critical condition

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a hit & run incident in the city yesterday.
A three-year-old boy is in a critical but stable condition after he was struck by a car near the Castle Meadows estate on the Skehard road in Mahon shortly before 4pm yesterday.
He was treated at the scene, before being rushed to CUH, and has since been transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin.
The 17-year-old was arrested in Mahon at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
He's being held under section four of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for up to 24 hours.
