1916 centenary programme officially launched Leeside

The launch took place this evening.

Cork City and County Councils have unveiled their programme of events for the 1916 commemorations. 

RedFM News has learned that three quarters of a million euro will be pumped into the year long programme of events across the city and county.

The biggest public event in the city is the family festival on the Grand Parade over the Easter Weekend while in the county some of the bigger commemorations will take place in May in Drinagh, Fermoy and Castlelyons. 

Speaking to RedFM News the City's Lord Mayor Cllr Chris O'Leary revealed the theme of this years St Patrick's Festival in the city.
