20% Increase In Those Living In Emergency Accommodation In Cork
New figures on homelessness show a 20% increase on adults living in emergency accommodation in Cork.
However Cork Simon say the number of adults sleeping rough has fallen by 5% since June from 127 to 105.
The charity has welcomed the reduction in numbers, but says the homeless crisis shows no signs of abating in the near future.
It comes as the Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy is holding an Emergency Housing Summit today, following the deaths of four homeless people in the past week, including 30 year old Jenny Dennehy from Blackrock.
It's expected the Government will reveal its plan to end the homeless crisis today.
Speaking to RedFM News Cork Simon's Dermot Kavanagh says the Government are facing an enormous challenge:
