21 people have died on Cork roads so far this year, following a fatal road traffic collision on the main Fermoy to Ballyhooley road this morning.

A 21 year old man from Kilworth was fatally injured when the car he was driving was in collision with a 4 x 4 jeep at Grange on the N72 at around 8am yesterday morning.
 
The young man was driving to work in Mallow while the 4 X 4 was being driven by a 40 year old woman who was taking her three year old son to Fermoy.
 
Both  the woman and her three year old son were rushed  by ambulance to  Cork University Hospital but it's understood their injuries are not life- threatening.
 
A forensic crash investigator examined the scene and Gardai are asking anyone who may have traveled the road to contact them at Fermoy Garda Station on 025 82100
