3 Men Are Due Before The District Court This Morning
They have been charged in connection with a break-in at a house in North Cork
Gardai arrested two of the men - a 52 year old living in the Glen and a 61 year old living in Dillons Cross - when they attempted to burgle the home of an elderly couple in Freemount on Saturday evening.
Detectives believe the gang had staked out the isolated farmhouse the week before the break-in and had watched the elderly couple on Friday as they collected their pensions at the local post office
Two of the men broke into the house on Saturday eveningt where they were met by armed members of the Regional Support Unit, the third member of the gang fled the scene but was later arrested near Naad
The three are due in Court this morning.
