399 people treated on trolleys at Cork University Hospital last month
The INMO says overcrowding in Irish hospitals has increased every month so far this year
Cork University Hospital has been identifed as one of six hospitals around the country which endured the highest levels of overcrowding last month
Nearly 400 people were treated on trolleys at the hospital last month and the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says nationally the figures show a 40% rise in the number of patients on trolleys in hospitals when compared to August last year.
The INMO says overcrowding in Irish hospitals has increased every month so far this year when compared to last year.
The union has described this as a "very disturbing trend" and is repeating its demand for a meeting of the High Level Implementation Group to solve the issue.
Speaking to RedFM News Michael Dineen of the INMO says he's fearful that the situation will only get worse as the weather gets colder
