45 people on Cork city hospital trolleys today

45 people are lying on trolleys at Cork University and the Mercy University Hospitals today. Nationally nurses say 501 people are awaiting a bed on trolleys and in wards at hospitals around the country today. The highest number, 52, has been recorded at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda County Louth - 41 of those are on trolleys. Meanwhile Bantry General Hospital hit full bed capacity over the weekend. The hospital was uanble to admit patients brought in by ambulance or referred to by Southdoc as all of it's beds were full The HSE confirmed however that all self presentations were seen, treated and admitted if necessary and no emergencies were refused.
