4th Day Of Beef Farmers Protest Kicks Off In Bandon This Morning
Over 60 demonstrators are in attendance outside the ABP plant on the Macroom Rd
The Beef farmers protest has kicked off on the Macroom road in Bandon with traffic outside the ABP plant at a stand still.
Over 60 demonstrators have obstructed the roadway into the factory, preventing trucks from getting into the meat facility.
Gardai are also on scene.
Almost 100 farmers have been protesting at the ABP plant in Bandon over the low price of beef and RedFM News has learned that many farmers are boycotting meat factories saying they won't send their cattle in for slaughter until the prices pick up.
Speaking to RedFM News Chairman of the Southwest Region for the Beef Plan Movement Dermot O'Brien says Brexit is being used as an excuse to cut the price of beef and as a result they're all struggling:
