70 nursing posts remain unfilled at CUH

Over 70 nursing posts in Cork University Hospital remain vacant leaving front line staff working at dangerously low levels.
Thats according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation who are calling for immediate action to address the drop in number of nurses in Ireland.
Figures released from the HSE shows that there are now 270 less nurses in the Public Health system then there were this time last year.
The INMO is seeking intervention of the Department of Health to fill vacancies in the frontline staff nursing positions.
The HSE say there is no embargo on recruitment, but they are unable to directly hire nurses nationally because of budget constraints.
Speaking to RedFM news INMO Director of Industrial Relations Phil Ni Sheaghda says this is not the case:
