81 Pupils Who Have Never Missed A School Day Were Honoured At City Hall
The pupils are from 28 primary and secondary schools across the city
81 pupils from 28 primary and secondary schools in Cork city who have never missed a day in school are being honoured at City Hall today
The event which is being held by the Child and Family Agency Tusla and the City Council marks the achievements of the pupils who have never missed a day of school in eight or more consecutive years.
This year 10 sets of siblings received awards and in one family from Carrigaline three siblings - who between them have a cumulative total of 32 years unbroken attendance at school - received awards.
Pupils are being presented with their awards by the Lord Mayor Cllr Tony Fitzgerald who told RedFM News that it's a unique event which dates back to the 1920's
