8 Cork Beaches Rated 'Excellent' By The EPA
The 2019 annual bathing water report was released this week
Barley Cove, Fountainstown and Garretstown received the EPA's top rating, while Coolmaine, Garryvoe and Youghal Front Strand Beach were rated as 'sufficient'.
94% of the 145 bathing sites tested around the country passed the minimum quality standard set by the EU.
The EPA is asking people to help to maintain water quality by taking litter home and not leaving food at the beach.
