A Cork Author Has Been Awarded One Of The Richest Literary Awards In The World 

Danielle McLaughlin from Donoughmore was awarded the €146,000 Windham-Campbell prize

She is the third writer in four years to win the prestigious prize. 

Her debut short story collection Dinosaurs on Other Planets was published in 2015 and was cited by the judging panel for capturing the beauty and brutality of human relationships. 

The Windham-Campbell prize was established in 2013 and is awarded to 8 authors every year.
