A Cork Senator Says There's An Urgent Need To Build A New Elective Hospital In Cork 

Seanad Health spokesperson Colm Burke was speaking as calls intensify for the Health Minister and the Government to tackle hospital overcrowding

Health Minister Simon Harris told RedFM News that a site for the elective hospital will be selected by the end of the year, meanwhile a 40 bed extension at the Mercy University Hospital was announced two weeks ago. 

It’s though the Mercy and South Infirmary Hospitals could both be closed when the new hospital opens, however more clarity is expected at planning stage.
