A Cork TD Has Renewed His Calls For SouthDoc's Blackpool Clinic To Reopen

Letters between the director of SouthDoc and Cork Kerry Community Healthcare show the HSE 'do not accept' SouthDoc's decision to keep the Blackpool treatment centre closed.
A letter dated the 16th of October from the HSE to the Chairperson of Southdoc states the closure of the centre poses a 'serious risk' that acute hospitals will be forced to deal with 'unnecessary presentations' by people who would have otherwise attended the SouthDoc clinic.
In a letter dated the 22nd of October the chairperson of SouthDoc rejected that idea and said analysis of presentations to emergency departments did not show an increase in referals.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cork TD Thomas Gould says he has written to the Taoiseach, the Health Minister, The HSE and SouthDoc:
