A new Contractor Will Be Sought For The Dunkettle Interchange Project From October
It follows a disagreement over costs
The change in contractors will delay the completion of the project for 12 months until 2023 however advance works with the current contractors will go ahead as scheduled in October.
Local politicans have hit out at the delay claiming Cork motorists will pay the price for the Government's failure to deliver the upgrade as it will mean more traffic congestion for a longer period of time.
TII maintains that despite delays the Dunkettle interchange will go ahead and has reassured the public that the budget is committed.
Speaking to RedFM news Sean O'Neill of the TII says the new contract will be awarded next year.
