A Senior Lecturer At UCC Says It's Doubtful That The Government's Electric Car Plan Can Be Achieved

It wants 1 million electric vehicles on Ireland's roads by 2030

However UCC Lecturer and Electric Vehicle Industry professional John Hayes says this target is unrealistic and potentially problematic for the Government.

The first Irish Government plan for electric vehicles in 2008 promised 200,000 vehicles on the roads by 2020.

However the actual number predicted for next year stands at 10,000, 95% short of the target.
