"A very rough night ahead", Cork to bear the brunt of gale force winds

An orange wind warning has been issued for Cork and Kerry, with a yellow wind alert currently in place for the entire country.
The orange alert affecting the two southern counties will come into force from 8 o'clock tonight.
Gusts of up to 120km/h are expected across Cork and Kerry, while strong winds are also being forecast for the rest of the country.
Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly says some of the winds across the south west will be very damaging: "There will be a risk of power outages, falling trees along with debris. So along with some heavy showers it's going to make for some quite treacherous conditions. And while Cork and Kerry have the orange warning the yellow warning is in place for Leinster, Munster and Connacht, so there will be some strong gusts right across the country, and especially even further along the south and the southeast later into tonight. So a very rough night ahead."
