Addiction can often be misunderstood.
That's according to the Clinical Director at Tabor Lodge who says alcoholism doesn't just affect the user it affects the whole family.
It comes on the back of a recent UCC study which found the consumption pattern among women is now similar to that in men, with many people first exposing themselves to alcohol abuse in college with two-thirds of students admitting to hazardous drinking.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Clinical Director at Tabor Lodge Mick Devine says everyone in the family needs to be supported as the road to recovery is difficult.
