A public appeal has been launched to ensure a campaign which aims to help older people remain in their own homes can continue to run.
Age Action is seeking funding to support its free Care & Repair service for older people, which last year carried out more than 5,000 jobs in Cork.
The care and repair team, who are all Garda vetted, help with small jobs around the house for older people from changing a light bulb to installing a lock.
The service is delivered in partnership with 33 different community groups across Ireland including nine in Cork city and county.
Speaking to RedFM News Justin Moran, of Age Action says its costs over €100,000 to keep this vital service going.
