An Bord Pleanála Has Approved Two New Solar Farms In County Cork
The board rejected an appeal by the Ballinrea Community Group against a development on several fields between Carrigaline and Castletreasure.
Locals had claimed the solar farm would alter the areas rural character.
The board also overturned Cork County Councils decision to refuse planning for a solar farm south west of Newmarket at Curraduff.
The Irish Examiner reports that County Hall planners had rejected the development over pollution fears.
