An Exercise To Simulate A Critical Incident Is Taking Place In The City Today
The training day is taking place at the ASSERT Centre
The centre is UCC's state-of-the-art simulation training facility at Brookfield, and will involve Gardaí dealing with a number of emergency scenarios including an incident in a busy hospital emergency department.
The aim of the event is to better equip emergency services with the knowledge, problem solving and teamwork to deal with a critical incident.
Speaking to RedFM News, Sergeant Peter Murphy from Anglesea Street Garda Station says its vital that Cork is prepared for large scale incidents.
