An Post Workers Call On Their Union To Support A Campaign Against The Closure Of Cork Mail Centre
The centre is to close in March with the loss of over 200 jobs
A group of workers at An Post's mail centre in Little Island are appealing to their union to support their fight against the centre's impending closure..
The Labour Court has recommended that staff are offered enhanced severance packages amid ongoing calls for the mail centre to remain open.
The Communications Workers' Union has welcomed the new measures, however a group of up to 120 staff at the centre say they will continue to oppose it's closure in March with the loss of over 200 jobs
John Ahern of the Cork Mail Centre Action Group told RedFM News that they want the union to fight the closure as they believe there is plenty of work for staff at the Little Island Mail Centre
