Animals being treated in Mallow after being rescued from puppy farm
They were found in horrific conditions in Carlow.
34 dogs and 11 horses are currently being treated at the ISPCA in Mallow after being rescued from horrific conditions at a puppy farm in Carlow.
A total of 351 animals were rescued from the farm over a nine day period including 340 dogs and 11 horses.
All of the horses and 34 dogs were taken to the ISPCA Equine Centre in Mallow where they are being treated for a range of problems including serious
ear infections, matted hair and eye problems.
Several of them had untreated injuries and badly infected paws from being soaked in urine.
Barbara Bent from the ISPCA in Mallow told the Neil Prendeville Show that the Dog Breeding Act needs to be amended to include unannounced spot checks.
