Anti-water charges protests taking place in the city

They are in different areas of the city's Northside.

Community protests are being staged this evening in a number of areas across the Northside of the city.

The protests organised by the We Won't Pay campaign will take place in Farranree, Knocknaheeny, Ballyvolane, Gurranabraher and at the South Gate Bridge.

The protestors are calling for a mass boycott of water charges and will see banners being unfurled at busy junctions with appeals made to motorists to honk their horns in support.

The campaign aims to send out a message that the water charges can be defeated.
