Anyone who leaves their home today are putting their lives at risk

That's the message from Gardai in Cork who are urging the public to stay indoors and be safe

Three people have died as a result of storm Ophelia which continues to track north across the country.

A woman and a man were killed in separate incidents in counties Waterford and Louth when trees struck their cars, while a man was fatally injured while using a chainsaw in Cahir, Co. Tipperary this afternoon.

Speaking to RedFM News, Sgt Peter Murphy of the Communications Centre in Anglesea Street is urging people to stay indoors, and to consider those already killed in the storm.
